Join us for an update from the Boys & Girls Club of Newnan on how they are making a real impact on local youth and families. This session will highlight current programs, community partnerships, and future goals focused on education, leadership development, and providing a safe, supportive environment for kids after school and during the summer.
Attendees will get a behind the scenes look at how the Boys & Girls Club is helping shape the next generation in Coweta County and where opportunities exist for businesses and community leaders to get involved.
Hi, I’m Daniel Hicks . I’ve spent the last 23 years in pastoral ministry, helping people grow in their faith and in their lives. I’m married to my college sweetheart—we’ve been married for 24 years—and we’re raising three amazing kids, two in college and one in high school.
My personal mission is to add value to others by guiding them toward continual growth. I’m passionate about helping others and committed to personal growth, which led me to become a certified John Maxwell speaker, coach, and trainer. I love equipping individuals and teams to reach their full potential and live with purpose. I’m also an avid reader, tackling over 80 books a year, and when I’m not coaching or reading, you can usually find me cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs.
Come out and support our Pawsitivity Partnership with LifeLine's Healthy Pet event. Buckhead Rotary is the sponsor for this event! There will be 1,500+ pets and their people in attendance along with Fulton County Commissioner Khadijah Abdur-Rahman.
This event provides the much needed vaccinations for dogs and cats as well as chipping and vouchers for spaying and neutering. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to engage with the animals as you help direct people, check them in, and assist with paperwork.
Come for an hour or stay for the entire time. Families and children of all ages are welcome to attend. LifeLine provides breakfast (bagels and donuts) and coffee plus lunch for all staff, volunteers, and event attendees.
Event Hours: 10 AM - 1 PM
Volunteer Shifts: Start at 6:30, 7:00, 8:15, and 8:45 AM (depending on the role) and last until the event ends (between 3-4 PM).

Join us for a discussion with Brad Mock focused on affordable housing and its growing importance in our communities. Brad will share insight into current challenges, practical solutions, and how thoughtful development can balance growth, affordability, and long term community stability.
This session will explore why affordable housing matters to employers, local governments, and families, along with ways public and private partners can work together to create housing options that strengthen the workforce and the local economy.
The club covers round-trip fare on the GRSP bus for this one. We would just need to get Philipp to the pick-up point in Macon (at the McDonald's on Riverside & Arkwright).

New VCR members are requested to attend both sessions of the Red Badge (Orientation). Each session is held immediately before the Club's service project (Sack Pack) at Cobb Co. Fire Station 5's Community Room (4336 Paces Ferry Road, Atlanta, GA 30339). Use the parking lot next to the station house that is in front of "Another Broken Egg" and walk through the front door of the station house. A light dinner is provided (think sammies, salad, pizza fare), so please confirm your attendance with the President Elect (who will likely be talking with you about the session) for dinner and dietary needs.
Session One is typically on even numbered months and Session Two is typically on odd numbered months. These sessions are intended to provide new members with tangible information about VCR, how to get plugged in, and the various opportunities afforded to Rotarians. Attendees are encouraged to bring their mobile phone, table, or laptop to also get a tour of our online presence, links, and members-only items.
Vinings Cumberland Rotarians invite the community to join them on the Second Thursdays of the month to assemble lunch sacks (chips, sandwiches, etc.) that are distributed the next day by The Table on Delk to children getting off the school bus in the immediate vicinity of Delk Road and Interstate 75.
The Table on Delk is committed to serving individuals at risk of sex-trafficking. Part of that mission includes addressing critical needs of mostly women and their young families to decrease that risk, desperation, and food insecurity.
The Sack Pack is held in the Community Room at Fire Station No. 5 in Vinings (4336 Paces Ferry Road, Atlanta, GA 30339). Please park next store at Another Broken Egg (which will be closed at that time) and follow the sidewalk.
LOCATION: 4336 Paces Ferry Road, Atlanta, Georgia 30339 (intersection of Paces Ferry and Paces Mill).

Members who have committed to nomination for the Club's 26-27 year, along with substantially involved committee members and current board members, will meet for a strategic planning meeting (with lunch) at the Club's Hospitality House, this last day of the District Conference.
Incoming Board Members are asked to prepare in advance and bring (1) a preliminary budget request for their area of responsibility; (2) a proposed calendar of events for "known" activities/plans for activities or needs for 26/27; and (3) if applicable, any proposals, for discussion, for a district matching grant (applications due May 15th).
The focus of the meeting:
1. Goals for the club for activities that support comraderie within the club and service to the community (near and far); complete the "RCC" and "MAP,"
2. Review engagement levels of members (a roster run),
3. Review projected costs of running the business of the club (Operating Budget and planning), and
4. Identification of any new initiatives for 26/27 (and how members can be connected to originate new initiatives).
