6 | 7 8 Roswell: GBI EHT Training - Set Up Crew SOLD OUT The GBI (Georgia Bureau of Investigation) is conducting an in-person training class on Human Trafficking Prevention on June 7, 2021 at the Roswell-Alpharetta PD training center. This training is for PD's in the North Fulton area. The ask for the Rotaries involved (Roswell taking the lead) is for volunteers to help set up an break down the training location, help with serving the lunch and the snacks area. This is light work, but vital work to make the training a success. 8:30 Roswell: End Human Trafficking Police Training The GBI working through EHT are conducting extensive training for police officers to recognize signs of human trafficking. Multiple police agencies and Rotary Clubs are involved. Volunteers are needed from 8:30AM to 2:30PM. We will get introduced to the new Technical Director and get a glimpse of what is in store for the next year. | 9 | 10 12:15p Thomasville: Kevin Mis Solval, Ph.D. - UGA Associate Professor in food science Guest The University of Georgia Department of Food Science and Technology’s Kevin Mis Solval and his team of researchers have secured a nearly half-million dollar grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) to aid in creating safe food ingredients from cannonball jellyfish.
Harvested on the southeast coast of the U.S., cannonball jellyfish, commonly called jellyballs, have become a prominent catch for fisheries located within the region, and a way for shrimpers to diversify their catch during the off-season for shrimp. But history has shown that there has never been a domestically sustainable market for jellyfish food products.
Dr. Solval will share stories from his research. 12:15p Roswell: Sen. John Albers & Rep. Mary Robichaux - Legislative Update Guest Senator John Albers serves the 56th District, which encompasses northern portions of Fulton County and southeastern portions of Cherokee County. This area includes all of Roswell and Mountain Park and parts of Sandy Springs, Johns Creek, Alpharetta, Milton, and Woodstock.

5:30p Dunwoody: RCD Attorney and CPA Happy Hour and Rotary Means Business Rotary Means Business Fellowship and the RCD Attorney/CPA happy hour is next Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at 5:30pm-7pm. Our next meeting will be a drop-in style happy hour meeting from 5-7.
