Peachtree City, Tyrone and Senoia Make Beds for Children

Rotarians experienced an incredible day of service in action this March. Our friends at Sleep in Heavenly Peace are on a mission to make sure no child sleeps on the floor, and the need is real — they built and donated over 400 beds last year, yet more than 200 children in Fayette County are still waiting for a bed of their own.

Thanks to a Peachtree City Rotary grant, we were able to fund materials for 20 beds, and we were proud to host the build at Cooper Lighting Solutions. We also loved partnering with the Rotary Clubs of Tyrone and Senoia, The Eden Project and Senoia Baptist Church and so many other volunteers including DG Steve and DGND Amy (who coordinated the event) bringing together 100+ volunteers ready to serve.

We even had a little “God wink” — surrounding storms cleared just long enough (about two hours!) for our teams to complete 28 beds and begin prep work on 10 more that will be finished soon.

This is what Rotary is all about: seeing a need, bringing partners together, and turning service into real impact for families in our community. Proud of the hands, hearts, and teamwork shown by everyone involved — and especially grateful to be part of the service legacy of the Rotary Club of Peachtree City.
