I am super excited to have been selected as Rotary Friendship Exchange Chair by DG Steve Ivory. According to the official notification that was sent to me: "You are in a unique position to help motivate your district to engage in life changing exchanges with fellow Rotary members around the world. Your flexibility, leadership and innovation are instrumental to a successful Rotary Friendship Exchange Program for your fellow district members and friends of Rotary."
So, Rotary members of D6900, we are embarking on
some new voyages. Our district will enter into agreements of
exchanging visits with other districts creating friendships, collaborations,
visits and all kinds of exchanges including cultural sightseeing, food,
history and just general community immersion. I have reached out to some RFEs
outside of the US and there is so much we can do to increase our impact and
expand our reach - with cultural exchange visits, engaging in in-person service
projects with Rotarians abroad, sponsoring other Rotarians to
carry out projects overseas, intercontinental peacebuilding activities and more.
There is so much we can do together. Our district signed an Inter Country
Committee Georgia/ USA- Serbia and Montenegro Charter. D6910 and 6920 are
embarking on a trip top Serbia late September and October. How exciting! I will
be sharing more information as time goes on. There are some things in the
pipeline. Watch this space.
