The North Columbus Rotary Club is proud to continue its legacy of impactful international service through Rotary International’s Global Grant program. These projects address one or more of Rotary’s seven areas of focus and are carried out through collaboration between an international sponsor club and a host club in the project country, supported by funding from clubs, District Designated Funds (DDF), and The Rotary Foundation.
To date, North Columbus
has successfully sponsored seven Global Grant projects totaling
over $416,000 in funding. Notably, one project—GG1414886: Cancer
Awareness and Vaccination Program among Rural Communities in Northwestern
Bangladesh—was recognized as one of 20 noteworthy Rotary projects out
of more than 11,000 globally at the 2017 Rotary International Convention in
Atlanta.
This year, North
Columbus Rotary is partnering with the Rotary Club of Biratnagar Downtown in
Nepal to construct a modern and sustainable public sanitation
facility in the city of Biratnagar. The facility will feature toilets
with disability access, drinking water fountains, and a sanitation waste
management system, all designed to serve a diverse and growing urban
population with dignity and accessibility.
We welcome and encourage
clubs across District 6900 to consider becoming donor clubs for
this impactful global project.
